New Poll

There's a new poll in the bottom right side of the page. The question is, between the three options (Mt. Dew, Doritos or MWF3) which do you love the most. Please place your votes and email me with your feelings on the subject.

MOUNTAIN DEW(R)

I wrote a post earlier about the popularity differences between the three brands, and the amount of fans on their Facebook Fan Pages. You can read the article HERE. This poll is my way of determining which product has the most fans, according to La' Riot readers!

The statistics will be posted at the end of voting in a blog. I will discuss the favorites and analyze the way people have voted. Feel free to email me at lariotgirl@gmail.com and let me know your feelings. Tell me why you like the product. I will use comments in the post.

Mt. Dew Vs. Doritos : What's The Gamer's Choice?

Well, according to the COD MWF3 Double XP Rank Up Game and Facebook, Mt. Dew is way more popular than Doritos. With the launch of the new Call of Duty game, Modern Warfare 3, Mt. Dew and Doritos has launched a new game which offers double XP (experience points) for MWF players that collect product codes and turn them in online. This is a very common promotional technique designed to draw attention to the products. The companies organize together and help each other advertise.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3MOUNTAIN DEW(R)DORITOS(R)

In this case, Mt. Dew is clearly the ring leader of the MWF3 show! I was on the Rank Up XP site when I noticed that all 3 of the advertising brands were linked to their Facebook Fan Page. Under the brand's picture is a "like" button that also shows the amount of likes each page has recieved. COD MWF3 has 1.5 million likes, you would think that compared to Doritos which has 234k likes, MWF3 would be a much better seller. But that's not the case. Mt. Dew has 6.2 million fans. That's almost 6 times the amount of MWF3 fans.

This makes me think that one key reason that MWF3 is gaining momentum is due to the Mt. Dew craze. Gamers know Mt. Dew as a drink of choice, and the choice of champions. Mt. Dew has been a huge sponsor for all Xbox games, including some Playstation games and possibly others. The COD franchise has huge numbers (Black Ops, has 10.6 million Facebook fans) and MWF3 will gain many fans as more gamers get their own copies. I'm betting that plenty of Dew drinkers will buy the game because of the huge connection between the drink and the game.

Given time, I believe that MFW3 will be able to gain many more fans on Facebook. As we know, Facebook is a main leader in resources for research work. And I believe that this Mt Dew vs Doritos vs MWF3 model, clearly shows how easy it is to gather information from the social giant. It also shows how joining forces with like minded peers can give yourself a boost.

Miss Jane of the Week

I recently started tweeting with @MsJaneProducts and hopped over to their site to check it out. Ms Jane sells different marijuana accessories. She sells T-shirts with their logo, stuff to clean your pipes with and even an at home urin test. So, long story short, there is a contest called Ms Jane of the Week on the site. It's a lot like the famous Miss High Times contest. She selects one girl every week to be featured on the site. Here is my application for the contest!

"When you smoke the herb, it reveals you to yourself." - Bob Marley

bobbie_2My name is Amanda and I'm a pretty bad ass chick! I'm 23 and live in the growing city of Greenville, South Carolina. I write a random blog called La' Riot. Specifically, I talk about feminism and LGBTQ culture
(but I did say it was random). I have a bachelors degree in sociology from USC. My goals are to be a counselor for LGBTQ youth and an avid marijuana activist.

When it comes to my weed smoking habits, I began smoking in college at the age of 18. I started with a glass pipe. Glass is great, it's a wonderfully clean smoke and the glass pipes are all art themselves. A few years after I started smoking, I had a friend who introduced me to
the gravity bong (GB). Home made, with one 3 liter bottle inside a 2 liter bottle filled up with water. I love to get a huge hit off of the GB. It's only for the strong lunged people. I have to take a break from it every once in a while and go back to glass or paper. The GB only takes a small amount of green to get a huge hit. This is great
for the savvy smoker!

I should be chosen as Miss Jane of the Week because I want to gain a
bigger platform to spread the message of positive marijuana use and
culture.  I am a social and human rights activist that is looking to
further her presence in the marijuana community, online and in real
life. I could be a great example for other women looking to become
soulful, educated, marijuana users.
