A Willy Wonka Wedding

What is the wackiest wedding you can imagine? A circus theme, candy land theme, Willy Wonka meets goth-steam punk? Yep... the latter. Check out these images from a wedding in Luna Parc, Montague, New Jersey. The location is a brilliant Victorian style house. The designer Ricky Boscarino is an artist and uses the setting as his canvas. The grounds are covered with original sculptures, frequently made from household items and "junk". In particular, Boscarino uses a lot of glass bottles which reflect light.

The exterior of the house is vibrant. The Victorian eves and curls are painted with bright yellows, blues, pinks and reds. There's even a tower with a huge clock face on the side of the building. This house reminds me of candy, in particular jelly beans (I'm not sure why). There are also a lot of stained glass and mosaic/tile work.

The interior is just as eccentric.  The tile theme continues on the inside of the mansion. The kitchen is done with bright plates and utensils.

So, what do you do with an amazing space like this? Have a wedding in it of course! Stephanie and Peter decided to have their wedding ceremony at this whacky location. I truly believe it was a wonderful idea and matched the couples personality.

The brides gown was purple and black, beautiful and so nontraditional. The food was vegan and the cake was purple with silver bats. The officiant? Yea, you guessed it... Ricky Boscarino. Who else better to officiate over such a great day than the creator of the wonderful artwork.

I wasn't interested in making an entrance, so Ricky did it for me. He was the last to arrive, blowing a goofy bicycle horn to announce his entrance. We gave out raffle tickets, not telling guests at first what they were for. The winners got to sign as witnesses. We didn't want to choose anyone to sign because I've seen too many people get upset that they weren't chosen for something.

Congratulations to the new couple. And look for Ricky's jewelry line, online or in your local stores.

The house was featured on MTV Extreme Cribs in 2008 and you can find reruns or the episode locally.

I found these from Offbeat Home via Offbeat Bride.
