Prop 8: Tipping The Scale

Finally, the evil Prop 8 has been overturned. It's been the talk of the nation for days now. Celebrities are rejoicing and the LGBT public is finally getting what it deserve. It's a great time in our history. We are finally reaching a point in evolution where we are beginning to respect and accept those that are different than ourselves.

Ellen DeGeneres discussed the victory on her show saying that she was very "happy" for the decision. Ellen married her wife Portia de Rossi in 2008. Her fame has definitely contributed to the rise of LGBT consciousness.   It's because of great women and men like Ellen that we have come this far.

Eat That
The scale is finally starting to tip in favor of "gay marriage". The time has come for our homosexual friends to experience the same joys and sorrows associated with marriage as the "breeders". Thank god, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully we can say so-long to oppression of all types withing the coming years. It takes time and evolution to change, but I believe people are generally good and are capable of giving up their prejudices.

The best question is "now what". Well, hopefully we will see the full institutionalization of gay marriages. There is still a lot of legal bullshit and papers to be signed, but with the way things are trending I'm hopeful this will occur within the next few weeks or months. Even anti-gay politicians can't be that dense not to see that equal rights apply to everyone!

Britney Spears Engaged

I'm excited to hear that pop princess, Britney Spears in engaged. After her tramatic past, it's refreshing to see her finally happy. It seems real this time. According to Spears "We have such a great time together! He makes me laugh, and we are so comfortable being ourselves. We like to stay home, order in, watch movies, go to dinner with friends. And we love getting away for the weekend."

The Guy
His name is Jason Trawick and he's her former agent. He just turned 40, December 15th, the same night as the proposal. The couple have been together since 2009 and Trawick reportedly gets along with Spears two boys very well.

How He Asked Her
At his 40th birthday party of all places. Reportedly, the two were alone in New York when he pulled out a Neil Lane diamond engagement ring. After she had given him his presents, he surprised her with the ring. She said yes.

She later updated her Twit status saying "OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo".

The Ring
The ring is "very traditional" reports Us Weekly. The ring features a three-caret round stone with pave diamonds on the band.

Digging for actual pictures of the ring is slightly challenging. Since I'm not sure if there is a 100% confirmed picture yet, I've come up with the best guess I can get. I think this is the ring. I will update later.

This is her 3rd marriage, her 2 previous marriages both ending publicly in divorce. I wish the best to the couple!

World AIDS Day

December 1st is known worldwide as World AIDS Day and this year the celebrations are bigger and better than ever. With the spread of social networking and the internet as it is, the World AIDS Day message has spread far and wind. Even reaching me here, in damn South Carolina of all places. I did say, "WORLD" AIDS Day. The individual country backing of this day is phenomenal. The movement has so much support as people are learning more about this deadly virus.

HIV/AIDS
I'm no doctor, but I think I have the basics down. AIDS is a STD (sexually transmitted disease) that originates from the HIV virus.? I'm not sure of the mechanics involved, but it shuts down your body. Luckily  since 1988 when the first World AIDS Day was helped spread the message of safe sexual practice and routine screenings. There is an estimated 15 million people worldwide that are currently suffering from HIV/AIDS.

Please, stay conscious of your physical and sexual health. Use a condom and see your doctor. Men, women, young, old, gay, straight or bi... this message is for everyone. It CAN happen to you. Don't be naive and leave yourself vulnerable.

God Bless.

Rub Your Own Feet, Bitch!

Oh the shame. Living in South Carolina, is kind of pitiful at times. Our people are the most common to make the news by doing something hideous. According to these charts South Carolina ranks #1 as having the most mobile homes per capita! Yea... that's pretty awesome.
So, the newest in redneck Carolina tales, a teacher is accused of making her students rub her feet. Seriously, like on their hands and knees massaging her nasty feet! It makes me throw up in my mouth a little. We all know the stereotype of the wretched evil teacher. This take it to a whole new level.

I'd Rub Her Feet
"She admitted to the children rubbing her feet," said Brenda Norris. "Just the thought of it... They immediately sent her home, but she's back there today."
Norris refused to name the teacher, but said she would select students to massage her feet during class time. "My granddaughter has nightmares, she cries," said Norris. "She said 'I have three wishes, Grandma. One of them was not to go to school today.'"Outraged, Norris took to Facebook and found at least half a dozen parents who said this also happened to their kids. The district says the situation has been handled. "I don't trust the system at all now," said Norris. "I can't trust the system. I'm afraid for her to go to school."
Read more:

So, what do you think? What would you do if your child was being forced... "selected", to rub their teacher's feet in school? Complaining to the principal, news and demanding the teacher being fired would be on my list of things to do. I doubt she will have her job much longer, but it's a shame none the less.

Mt. Dew Vs. Doritos : What's The Gamer's Choice?

Well, according to the COD MWF3 Double XP Rank Up Game and Facebook, Mt. Dew is way more popular than Doritos. With the launch of the new Call of Duty game, Modern Warfare 3, Mt. Dew and Doritos has launched a new game which offers double XP (experience points) for MWF players that collect product codes and turn them in online. This is a very common promotional technique designed to draw attention to the products. The companies organize together and help each other advertise.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3MOUNTAIN DEW(R)DORITOS(R)

In this case, Mt. Dew is clearly the ring leader of the MWF3 show! I was on the Rank Up XP site when I noticed that all 3 of the advertising brands were linked to their Facebook Fan Page. Under the brand's picture is a "like" button that also shows the amount of likes each page has recieved. COD MWF3 has 1.5 million likes, you would think that compared to Doritos which has 234k likes, MWF3 would be a much better seller. But that's not the case. Mt. Dew has 6.2 million fans. That's almost 6 times the amount of MWF3 fans.

This makes me think that one key reason that MWF3 is gaining momentum is due to the Mt. Dew craze. Gamers know Mt. Dew as a drink of choice, and the choice of champions. Mt. Dew has been a huge sponsor for all Xbox games, including some Playstation games and possibly others. The COD franchise has huge numbers (Black Ops, has 10.6 million Facebook fans) and MWF3 will gain many fans as more gamers get their own copies. I'm betting that plenty of Dew drinkers will buy the game because of the huge connection between the drink and the game.

Given time, I believe that MFW3 will be able to gain many more fans on Facebook. As we know, Facebook is a main leader in resources for research work. And I believe that this Mt Dew vs Doritos vs MWF3 model, clearly shows how easy it is to gather information from the social giant. It also shows how joining forces with like minded peers can give yourself a boost.

Blogging on the Side

I'm working on a new blog idea. Getting it started is giving me a little trouble. I can't say what the theme is, I plan to make it anonymous. La' Riot will still and will always be my priority between the two. However, there is a ton of edgier material I would love to post. Let's just say it's edgy enough that I don't have the balls to say it myself!

Anyway, I'm having a lot of trouble finding the right layout for it. When I decided on this layout for La' Riot, I loved it instantly. From the sexy pin-up's to the post thumbnails... I love this layout for this blog. It fits. But my side blog... I just can't find a decent enough pre-made that isn't too complicated to use. Let's face it, I'm a pretty new face in the sea of bloggers on the net!

I have hopes to create or purchase a unique layout. I'm decent with CSS/HTML, but nowhere near good enough to make one of these layouts. It would take forever to learn, and I really don't have that much time.

So, we're going to see how it goes. If you want more information about it send me an email to k1rbst0mp88@gmail.com

Humpdashian Divorce

72 days. While I must admit they made it longer than I had projected, it still all fell apart as we all assumed it would. It was too much of a show to be real. They thought they could pull off the same stunt Khloe and Lamar did when they got married. It seems the Odem's may actually have the stuff. Who would have thought a 30 day engagement could have turned out so well? I guess Kim and Kris did, but sadly they were wrong.

Kim Kardashian Files for Divorce from Kris Humphries

Clearly the rumor mill is buzzing with gossip. Why did Kim sign the divorce papers? The leading theory suggests she did it because he was sitting on his ass all day and she was working her fat ass off. Either way, it's pretty lame she would take such drastic measures. Maybe she should read my Guide To Commitment. You don't bail on your partner when shit gets tough. It just goes to show that Kim can't take the institution of marriage seriously.

Two failed marriages down. Now Kim really gets to be known as a gold digging whore. Once her cash cow basket ball player was out of a job, she called it quits. It may seem harsh, but we've got to let the woman's reputation speak for itself.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries' Honeymoon Pictures

It's pitiful really. Miss Big Booty herself can get married and call it off after 2 months... yet our lovable gay and lesbian couples out there are denied the privilege, even when they have been together for years.

I'm tired of selfish brats making a mockery of our society. From massive corporations to tv princesses, these people need to just stop!

Direction and Goals

Becoming a great blog writer comes with great challenges and many questions.Analyzing my work over the past 3 months, there are a lot of different subjects covered around here. I hate to loose valuable readers by changing and narrowing the blog topic, however I think that by doing that I could possibly attract more readers by becoming more of an "expert" on certain topics.

Since I started this blog 3 months ago, it has evolved from a random assortment of internet trash to a more refined, sexy feminist subject blog. As you may (or may not!) know, my passion is with LGBTQ subject matters. I also live/love feminism, and it's a huge part of my life.

I consider narrowing down the blog topics. I'm not sure what is best, but I will be experimenting. Look forward to more sexy commentary and social information.

Kaley Cuoco on Ellen

Kaley Cuoco was on Ellen today. I absolutely love her. She's 25 and stars on the CBS hit show Big Bang Theory. I've grown to love this show for its charm and wit. While it pokes fun at geek style and nerdisms, it also aims to improve the stereotypes. Nerds aren't as obscure these days. They still play WoW and love Star Wars, but now they can get the attention of the hot girl next door, Penny.

She entered the set to the song "Boom boom boom" by the Black Eyed Peas". And while she was there she disclosed some personal information about her family and their opinions of her recent nude photo shoot. The pictures appeared in Allure magazine. Her dad, who is always on set with her and has recently got his own directors chair, didn't know about the pictures until her mother told him. Her conservative mother found the pictures from a Google Alert.

Since recovering from a knee injury she received while horseback riding, she was left in a cast on the show for a few episodes. The show has now picked up syndication and reruns are being broadcast on local and cable channels.

Kaley is currently seeing someone now although she did not tell who it was. Apparently she has an exciting dating life. One guy took her own a date and didn't even know who she was until a bunch of girls saw her and got excited. Supposedly it didn't work out because he wasn't prepared to be involved with a celebrity. At least he was honest and apparently interested in her for more than just her fame!

Catch Kaley Cuoco on new episodes of The Big Bang Theory, Thursday nights at 9pm. Check listings for other times.

Mookychick I Love You

I applied for a freelance writer for Mookychick last night, and to my surprise, they responded this morning saying that they loved my work and would love to have me write for them. Excited? I definitely think so!

I discovered Mookychick.co.uk a few months ago. My niece inspired me to check it out and I've spent a lot of time clicking around. All of their topics are rad. A lot of my inspiration comes from the Mookychick site. I love seeing fellow writers that have the same passions.

There are some great topics on Mookychick. It's dominately a feminist group that touches on different alternative lifestyles. Hobbies, style, beauty tips, horoscopes, vegitarian recipes, geek girl section.

I plan on writing a few essays for them. There will be a rewrite of the SeXBox essay covering the rise and fall of Girl Gamers. I also plan on putting together a few LGBT articles and other what-not.

Here are some articles from Mookychick for you to look at. Please browse their website and get a look at what they have to offer. It's some kick ass stuff for sure!

YoungMoney.com

It's not Weezy yall! It's a site for young people to help with the growth of their financial life. It's easy to read for those of us who aren't financial advisers! Topics discussed on the site include careers, entrepreneurship, investing and personal finances. There are different types of calculators on the site that help you determine how long it will take or how much you should save before you reach a goal.

Image

I've used this site off and on for the past 5 years or so. It's given me some great tips. Although, IMO, the site is not as great as it use to be. There use to be more articles on "pop culture" etc. But, I think it's for the best. The site has taken on a more mature style and overall is more relevant.

I hope you all can find some great information and get motivated to start saving and thinking about the future. With the economy and government as it is today, our youth needs to have more direction with their finances. If we don't educate ourselves on the subject then it's inevitable that our economy will never recover from the economic tail spin we are currently stuck in.

Big Brother and AGT Finale

OK - In Season Finale Mode.... Big Brother - WOOHOO SOOOO glad to see Rachel win. I loved her since last season and

while I think she's a whiny brat, there is something I love about her. She's a fighter and a great player. Brandon's a douche.

and Americas Got Talent - I totally think there was some rigging going on. Maybe that's because I'm jealous, but I don't see

how Landau could have beaten out BOTH iLUMINATE and Silhouettes. I knew PopLyfe was out, the totally messed up last

night and their style was horrible. Think Jackson 5 with Janet as the lead singer. I think that iLUMINATE would have been

the best choice for the winner. They had a style all their own and the concept was far-out. It was futuristic, bright and the

dancing/choreography was brilliant. They had people on trampolines. So... America obviously has a skewed view of what

"talent" really means!!

Locks of Pink

Looking to add a little flair to your style while supporting a great cause? October, as we know, is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. There are a number of hair salons nation wide that are taking donations for local breast cancer organizations while putting in pink extensions. This is a great way to show your support and donate to one of the best causes available for women. "About 1 in 8 women in the United States (12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime." Breast cancer, next to lung cancer, is the second most deadly killer of women.
Let me take the time to encourage all women to keep a check on their breast health with frequent self exams as well as doctor exams.

Here is the info for one local salon here in Easley, SC (along with their FB page).

For the month of October we will raise money for the Susan G Comen Foundation by placing a lock of pink hair in your hair(much like the feather extensions). We will be doing this by donations only and all money raised will go to the foundation. It will be awesome to have a great turn out for this so share it with your friends and let everyone know. I hope to see everyone there!

Beyonce's Pregnant

This is so beautiful. I must not have noticed this part when I watched the show last night. I totally ignored her part because I tend to not really care for her music. But, now the whole world knows we're in store for a mini-mogul from the King and Queen of alternative hip-hop and RnB! I caught this video first thing this morning off of FB. My local radio station Hot 98.1 blogged the video. At first I wasn't sure what was going on. "So, she's pregnant." But after the Beyonce annyoance subsided, I realized how sweet this was. The crowd was screaming in excitement. Jay-Z and Kanye and their posse we're so excited. After I realized how happy everyone was, I too felt a surge of happiness, excitement and love. Our royal hip-hop twosome are having a baby! How much  more precious does that get?

On the Subject of Hurricanes - Racism In The Aftermath

Celebrating Women's Equality Day ~ From The WhiteHouse.gov *NEW*

As we commemorate Women’s Equality Day, the anniversary of the 19th Amendment, it is fitting to celebrate the many strides our Nation has made towards equality over the past 91 years.  It is a day to remember those iron-jawed angels, who marched and stood vigil, who fasted and were imprisoned for that basic right—the right to vote.  It is a time to recommit ourselves to continuing the struggle for full equality for women—for our mothers, grandmothers, daughters and for ourselves.  And for me personally it is a time to reflect on how much I have benefited from this legacy of sacrifice and leadership to enjoy the great honor I have today of serving in the Obama Administration.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak with community organizers, business leaders, faith leaders, and elected officials at Congressman Steny Hoyer’s 9th Annual Women’s Equality Day Luncheon in Clinton, Maryland.  I was proud to highlight that the rights, freedoms, and welfare of women and girls has been a priority of the Obama Administration from day one.
From creating the White House Council on Women and Girls, to appointing a strong team of women leaders to his Cabinet and White House staff, President Obama has ushered in a new era of leadership.  He nominated two women to the Supreme Court and nearly half of his confirmed nominees to the lower courts are women—far surpassing the previous high watermark of around 30 percent.
