Tattoos Are Painful

If you are considering a tattoo for the first time, you're probably wondering about the pain. You've been told it can go either way. I want to clear up any confusion about this. Tattoo's do hurt no matter where they are. And there is only 1 rule to remember when deciding how much pain you will be in, the closer to the bone the more pain there will be. The more fat you have, the less it will hurt because the bone is deeper under the skin. The vibration from the tattoo gun can travel through your bone and radiate through your body. Keep that in mind when deciding on the placement of your tattoo. But they are beautiful and well worth the pain!

Survive The Apocalypse

"The End Is Near!" Life as we know it is bound to change as we continue to destroy the very earth that we live on. An apocalypse can happen any day. Anything from instintanious nuclear fallout, to zombies, an asteroid crashing into the Earth, or the gradual spread of a life threatening infection. We can never know what the future holds, but preparing for the end of the world may help you survive the wastelands.
It's been the topic of books, games and movies for years. Is it all science fiction? We've seen devastation affect other parts of the world. Katrina destroying New Orleans, Hiroshima, the Thailand typhoon, 9-11. It's only a matter of time before the whole world is brought to it's knees. It may be science fiction for now, but in years to come the "great apocalypse" could be taught in high school history class!

Apocalypse
The sirens are blairing and whistles are blowing. People are running frantically trying to take cover. It's been a few days since the announcement, the apocalypse was coming. The time is here, and chaos is spreading rapidly.

How It Could Happen
There are a number of popular ways fiction writers kill off the majority of society.

  • Aliens - They probe us, take our resources and blow up everything.
  • Disease - Chemical or Viral. A disease spreads rapidly and picks off the weak.
  • Ecological Catastrophe - The world will freeze or over heat causing a new ice age and flooding from melting ice.
  • Human Decline - The population has declined from many reasons. Lack of reproduction is possible.
  • Impact Event - A major collision with another celestial body.
  • Monsters - Zombies, the blob, Godzilla.
  • Social Collapse - The economy goes to shit and everyone is left destitute.
  • Sun - The sun explodes or super heats.
  • Supernatural - Demons, the rapture. Generally religious beliefs coming true.
  • Technology - Robots become smarter than humans, are stronger and have bigger weapons.
How To Survive

So, what can we do to prepare for an inevitable doomsday? We can start by delving into some of the great works of art, depicting possible apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic outcomes.

  • Go underground. If you have enough time, build an underground bunker and stock it with necessities.
  • Arm yourself. Any useful weapon will help. Even if it's a crowbar! You'll need it for zombies, aliens, monsters and thieves.
  • Gather equipment. Flashlights, candles, lighters, tools, fire extinguisher, food and water.
  • Wait. The best and really only thing you can do in the beginning is to wait it out. Even after the initial disaster, sit still until the smoke has cleared and you're out of immediate danger.

   Post-Apocalypse
The outside world has calmed down, and you've decided it's time to come out of hiding. You open the door to a strange new world. The air is probably polluted still, but the immediate danger is over. The sky has been tinted red and the landscape is dry and barren. You can't be the only survivor, there has to be more people somewhere. How are you going to survive.

What To Look For
There's no doubt that there will be things you need to learn about the new world. Places to avoid, safe houses, how to find food and barter your goods with merchants and traders.

  • The first thing you are going to want to do is pack up all of your essential items. Water, weapons and armor.
  • Locate other people. Cities are going to be more populated. Try to colonize.
  • Avoid the wasteland. Odds are there are rogue warriors out there that are going to try to kill you and swipe your shit. Not to mention potential wild beasts
  • What types of currency are people using now? Figure out who has the items that you need.
  • Who's in charge? You're going to want to either obey them or kill them and take over.

How To Survive

  • Use your senses and look out for elemental disasters. Is the air polluted, the water? Is there fire or earthquakes. Consider finding an airmask, fire extinguisher and ways to filter water.

  • Gather, loot and steal. No matter how you get stuff, you're still going to have to work for it. And the more stuff you have, the better your chances of survival.

  • Weapons. Make shift knives and guns constructed of leftover junk are great options.

  • Harness the sun. Solar power is very usefully to charge up flashlights and basic electrical equipment.

  • Pick a side. Are you going to be the villain or hero? You have to claim respect one way or another.

  • Make friends. Trust will be hard and everyone will be jumpy. (Be sure to announce yourself when you enter a room.) The more friends you have, the better off you will be.

  • Transportation will be limited. Invest in a good pair of shoes and find something to ride! Horses and bicycles may be your only option at this point.

  • Learn to fight and make use of your weapons. You'll have to use them to defend your territory and to`ill wildlife, either for safety or food.

  • Procreate. It's the end of the world, she'll sleep with you now.

    Mandatory Arrest Laws Aren't Working

Those of you that know my story know that I am a victim of domestic violence. Since my experience, I have tried to shine a light on domestic violence and the actual truth about it. It is a common problem that affects millions of households worldwide. It's sick and depressing.

I was looking up some information tonight about "Mandatory Arrest Laws" and was startled by some of the information I found. I knew that these laws were in place, but after hearing more about how they are designed and how faulty they are I had to do some more digging. What I found may surprise you.

First of all, "mandatory arrest laws" require that police officers arrest someone every time they are called to a CDV case. The officers are to assess which person involved is the perpetrator and the aggressor. If both people are found to be at fault, then they are both to be taken into custody. However, officers are trained to assess the situation by first evaluating physical harm and then by listening to the statements of those involved. The problem here is that the person who is actually the aggressor, is going to lie. In my personal situation, the police arrested me solely on lies and the fact that I kicked his ass while defending myself! This is happening way too frequently. I've met many women who have all said that they too were not only victims of domestic violence but are also victims of a faulty legal system. Simply because we are defending ourselves, and actually leave more physical damage in the process, we are being arrested because the law tells the police to arrest the the person who was more aggressive. Then the smooth talking abusive guy comes in and lies and says that they are indeed the victim... getting punched by a girl.

This often leads to a dual arrest. Dual arrests are tricky and I actually got involved in this scenario as well. What happens is the prosecutor is going to look at the evidence against both parties. Given the leniency of many judges (especially against first time offenders), the case will probably be dropped. Another outcome is that both parties are sentenced to community service or the state equivalent, ending with the charges being dropped upon completion of your sentence.

    I Will Survive

Mandatory arrest laws lead to a slew of problems. They cause more problems then they actually solve. "Some experts are saying these laws are not helpful at all. The number of murders by abusers is higher in states with mandatory arrest laws than it is in other states." Murder rates are rising in theses states because women are afraid to call police in fear of an arrest gone wrong. It's a terrible thing to get wrapped up in. Not only are victims fighting their abusers, they are fighting an institution that can't understand the error in their ways. Political leaders aren't listening and people are dying. What else is new.

Someone has to do something about this. Not only the arrest laws, but domestic violence in general. Politicians aren't doing it, because taking care of the "home" isn't part of their intentions. We have to protect ourselves these days. Nobody said it was easy, nobody said we wouldn't make mistakes, but sometimes we really do get the raw end of the deal.

    Fake Body Jewelry Annoys Me

I've never been the kind of person to fake anything. I'm 100% honest about what I have and what I don't have. I don't have many morals, but honesty is extremely important to me. This is why fake body jewelry annoys the shit out of me.

    REAL

I've had many piercings and have 2 tattoos. I don't have a lot of body mod done, but I love what I have and want to get more stuff done. I don't do piercings very well. Over the years I've pierced a few different things and have had to take the piercing out because my body rejected it so intensely.

I was looking around online for tips on piercing your own nose. While the thought crossed my mind to do it myself, I'm not sure I have the balls to actually do it. One of the tips I brought up said to just wear a clip on or a fake. This made my heart sink.
    FAKE
Ok, honestly, you shouldn't pierce yourself. Especially if you are a child, and yes 16 is a child! Sorry, get over it! But if you are a grown adult, and you know how to use a needle, and you can handle pain and not fuck up your face... then and only then should you pierce your own flesh. Like I've said before, let a friend help you. And kiddies... don't even try this shit. Get the real shit done by a professional. Save the money and stop thinking it's rebellious  it's just a piece of jewelry not in your ears! And please God, don't wear fake jewelry.

Fake jewelry looks fake. It looks like you are taking the slacker road. Like you can't man up and get your shit done. Fake jewelry is a cop-out. And fake tattoos are even worse. They annoy me to no end. It's so unappealing and only makes you seem like a fake yourself. Harsh reality guys!

If you want to be a bad ass, then get some of the mods done in this video. I mean, when you look at how far these people will go to make their bodies look like art, and then you look at your Clair's clip ons... you just kinda look like an asshole!

    Wild Tattoos

Some tattoos get crazy! Raging tigers, colorful fish and birds of every variety. Animals are referred to as our "spirit guides" in many cultures. It's not surprise that people like to display their favorite animals on their bodies as a symbol of their interests and personalities. Here are a few of my favorite from around the internet.

    Caution: May Contain "Faggy Lameness"

I can't say that these tattoo stereotypes aren't true, but they sure are funny! I have a tattoo on my ass but I didn't get it while drunk, I got it because it's my ass and my tattoo kinda says "kiss my ass". And I have one on my back and uh... yeah, it's a peacock, so it's kinda "winged and faggy"! Personally I think tattoos are great no matter where they are, as long as you aren't a guy sporting a tramp stamp!

    Peacock Tattoos

Peacocks are beautiful creates. Peafowls, as they are referred to as a species, are native to South Asia. They were brought into Egypt by the Phoenicians. These magnificent birds have been a symbol of beauty, love and nobility for centuries. In Greek history the peafowl was the bird of Hera. She sent the bird to spy on Zeus, knowing that he could not escape the eyes of the peafowl feathers. As a tattoo, the peacock has been the center of controversy. While many cultures find the peafowl to be a beautiful and strong creature, valued for it's connections to royalty and good morals, many other cultures view it negatively. Being viewed as arrogant and suspicious, "proud as a peacock", many cultures find the feathers to resemble the "evil eye". However, in recent years, the peacock's externaly beauty is associated with the inner beauty of a human being.
